Listening 101: Best Listening Practices Using the repertoire to be performed on the upcoming school concert, we will review the elements of music and practice listening for them. We will talk about the ways in which they are used by different composers and discover how this attentive listening can enrich our enjoyment and appreciation of music. This workshop is targeted to elementary classroom teachers who are expected to teach core music curriculum, but who have little or no training in teaching music. Navigating Orchestra Websites There are several websites, sponsored by symphony orchestras, with creative and fun materials and activities. Students enjoy spending time on them and teachers can use them to help teach the core curriculum. They are filled with so much information that sometimes they can be intimidating. This workshop will introduce you to the websites and help you find ways to use them in your classroom. Watch for the announcement of this new workshop.
