2010-11 Salute to Youth Auditions
For the 2010-11 season, Utah Symphony will be holding both the preliminary and final auditions for Salute to Youth. Preliminary auditions will be submitted on CD only. Rules, application and repertoire for the Salute to Youth auditions can be found here. Results of the preliminary auditions can be found here. The finals for Salute to Youth auditions were held Wednesday August 18, 2010. Students performing on the 2010-11 Salute to Youth concert are:

This year's Salute to Youth concert will be conducted by Music Director Thierry Fischer. Put September 28, 2010 on your calendar now and plan to be in the audience for our continued celebration of the talented youth who grace the Abravanel Hall stage each year.
At the Salute to Youth auditions, pianist Weiyi Le was also selected to perform an entire concerto on the May 24, 2011 All-Star Evening concert.
The September 29, 2009 Salute to Youth concert marked the 50th anniversary of this great tradition. The concert featured 8 soloists performing concerto movements with Utah Symphony (pictured at left). Click here for a list of former soloists. All-Star Evening Concert
A soloist will be chosen at the 2010-11 Salute to Youth auditions to perform an entire concerto on our All-Star Evening, May 24, 2011. The All-Star Evening also includes orchestral selections performed Utah Symphony musicians sitting side-by-side with students who have been nominated from 10 youth orchestras.
· Occasionally we offer additional performance opportunities on our Lollipops, Family or school concerts.
Youth Guild Recital auditions are held each spring. Youth Guild members who have earned two service and two education credits are eligible to audition for the spring recital. Students selected to perform on the Youth Guild Recital are eligible to audition for the Salute to Youth concert. This year’s Utah Symphony Youth Guild Recital will be held Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 7:00 pm. This free recital will be held in the Thompson Chamber Music Room in Gardner Hall on the campus of the University of Utah. Be sure to add this recital to your family’s calendar. The excitement generated by these young musicians (ages 10-18) will leave you inspired and smiling for days. Students featured in that performance will be
