Teachers in the House

Teachers who attend Utah Opera performances can earn 4 re-licensure points by signing in an hour before curtain at Patron Services, attending the Prelude lecture, and then enjoying the performance.
Teachers who attend Utah Symphony performances can earn 3 re-licensure points by signing in an hour before the beginning of Masterwork concerts at the Youth Guild Coat Check, and attending the preconcert lecture and then enjoying the concert.
Certificates of completion will be mailed. Teachers can avoid the hassle of keeping a file of certificates by signing up for events ahead of time through the Utah State Office of Education OnTrack system.
Masterworks symphony concert tickets are $12-48; Opera tickets are $10-65. Teachers receive 10% off these prices. *Discount does not apply to the $12 Masterworks tickets or the $10/12 Opera tickets. You can also Design A Series, http://www.utahsymphony.org/tickets/design-a-series

Music! Words! Opera!
Original Classroom Opera Workshops
July 10-14, 2017

During this week-long course, teachers will work side-by-side with students in a summer music camp. Together, students and teachers will learn about opera traditions and history, create a libretto and compose music together for an original opera they will perform in the Utah Opera Production Studios at the end of the week. Utah Opera will help teachers make individual plans for a clasrrom opera project with a composer (hired by Utah Opera) during the 2015-16 school year. More information
