Utah Symphony | Utah Opera sponsors the Emerging Quartets and Composers program in conjunction with our Deer Valley © Music Festival. The EQ&C is unique in North America. Through it, composer Joan Tower and the Muir Quartet offer a three-week intensive program of masterclasses, lectures and performance opportunities to two young composers and two semi-professional string quartets selected from across the nation. In a final free performance during the DVMF©, the EQ&C quartets will premiere new works by the young composers in the program.
All open EQ&C events are free to the public.
